The di a Corte grotto walk

2 hours including the visit.

Ponticellu next to the sign indicating the trails (orange flags).

Follow the flagged trail to the little bridge over the river then turn left, keeping the river on your right. Follow the trail approximately 600 meters then turn right again onto the path which leads alongside some pine trees. This path leads into the di a Corte chestnut forest.

Cross the whole chestnut forest and take the trail that leads into the burnt maquis (13th august 2004) and which runs alongside two little houses in ruins.

After 200 meters, the path follows a creek bed which is normally almost dry in Summer. Follow the creek bed until you come to the intersection between the two hills, and take the turnoff to the right. After a very steep hundred meters or so, you will see a wall. Climb the wall and turn left. Twenty meters on, after having jumped from one walled fence to another, you will climb the last leg of the trail, which leads into the burnt maquis. After 200 meters, follow the path which curves to the left, leads down and opens onto the grotto's entry. A yellow cairn stands near the grotto's entry.
