Pietronacce as seen during the winter of 1999. Photograph taken from Curtina.

Selmacce and Pietronacce are twin hamlets. Perched up on the hillside, both hamlets are in prime position in terms of valley views. Most of the buildings are similar, despite an influx of tile roofs, as opposed to the more traditional slate roofs which, at least for now, remain in the majority. Although seemingly incongruous for the altitude, the different varieties of palm tree are well acclimatized and lend a certain charm to the already lively and welcoming hamlets.
