Rent a vintage house with garden in the heart of a preserved valley, only five minutes from the sea

Want to discover Corsica in an original way ? We think your starting point could be a vintage house, a hamlet -l'Ornetu- that has character, and a preserved valley -Pietracorbara- in the heart of the Corsican cape.

The house:

- It is a traditional casa, its foundations are cut in rock.
Its is surrounded by a 360 square meter garden. The house is in very good condition and well equipped for 4 or 5 persons (44 square meters on 2 levels).
-On the ground floor (20 square meters), an equipped kitchen with a microwave oven, a cooker with an oven, a fridge with a freezer, opens onto the garden. Separated from the kitchen by a double moving curtain, the bedroom has got 2 single beds.
-On the first floor (24 square meters), the room has got a big bed, an extra bed for one person, and a bathroom (washbasin, shower and toilet). You can go to this floor either from the inside or the outside of the house.
-The garden is also a place to live. Protected by walls made of stone, it is a kind of balcony overhanging the Ponticellu hamlet, in the valley axis.
There, you can see the hamlets in a row and the sea. A big table allows you to have lunch in the shade of an orange tree, close to a lemon tree. In the garden, there is also a camellia, as well as other Mediterranean plants. With the barbecue, you can roast grills."

The background:

The house is located in l'Ornetu, an authentic hamlet of about thirty houses which are built in hive-like formation around a Genoese tower dating from the 15th century. The roofs are made of slate and stone, and eight bread ovens still exist.
The house is four kilometres -five minutes- away from the sea. And as the beach is one of the most beautiful in the area, you can go swimming whenever you want. It is also possible to go hiking, whether you wish to stay in the plain or reach the summits (1300 m), and horse riding.
Pietracorbara is 22 kilometres away from Bastia, the biggest city in the north of the island. At the same time, however, the village is widely preserved from the urban disturbances. It is a remarkable start to discover the whole region and its valleys.

The prices: The weekly renting (from Saturday 03:00 pm to next Saturday 11:00) is : -600 € in July and August per week. -550 € in June and September per week. -500 € between October and May per week.
